September Hike

Thanks to all the Scouts, siblings and parents who joined us on our  first outdoor event for our program year.

25 Scouts and their families joined us for a hike through Monocacy Creek's nature trail from Illick's Mill down to the Burnside Plantation.

Mr. O'Donnell took charge and issued our Scouts their "trail names," before giving a short safely lecture. Once we were together, Mr. O'Donnell led our Scouts, families, and adult leaders on an approximate two mile hike with a short stop for the Scouts to recharge while enjoying the sights of the historic Burnside Plantation's structures and gardens.

Along the way, Scouts took the opportunity to observe local wildlife, including one of the resident herons, and identify some of the various trees and plantlife along the trail.

We look forward to holding more regular hikes and outdoor activities, please watch for announcements at our next Pack meeting or check our calendar for pre-planned events.

The Scouts stop midway for instructions.
